As Hills Church approaches our next phase of growth, we will be working towards strengthening the foundational bible beliefs of our current and future members. We believe the God calls the Christian into Jesus' church in both a universal global sense ("for in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--Jews or Greeks, slaves or free--and all were made to drink of one Spirit." - 1 Cor 12:13) and in a localized sense within the local church ("Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it." 1 Cor. 12:27). Our desire is to stay in unity together doctrinally (Eph. 4:12-13) so that we can replicate healthy disciples and ultimately plant healthy churches with good theological foundations.
We believe the Membership Bible Training will help keep us on course in growing in unity doctrinally. It's a 7 week series of Bible trainings on many different issues of foundational Bible beliefs that we hold to as Christians at Hills Church. It will become a prerequisite for membership, both current and future, to help assure that we are together in holding to what is true from the bible.
Who's invited to participate?
Those who are invited to attend are any who currently attend Hills Church and are currently connected in a Hills Church Small Group. We believe in relational discipleship in Jesus' church, and being connected in friendship in a small group with leaders is important to us. It's where help processing through beliefs as they are presented and taught is most likely to happen. It is is both a biblical model (Acts 18:24-26), and a necessity for growing in unity.
