Our Story

Welcome to Hills Church! We are a Bible-based, non-denominational Christian church located in Pullman, WA. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church made up of babies and children, students and professionals, singles and married couples. Our Sunday services are casual and friendly with meaningful worship music, relevant teaching from the Bible, and a fun kids’ program.

The Beginning

Hills Church started in the fall of 2012 as a team of 21 adults and 6 kids sent from Blue Sky Church in Seattle, WA. Planting Hills Church in Pullman is the culmination of an idea that has been in the minds and prayers of Blue Sky’s leaders and overseers for a number of years.

Our desire is to be a local church where people can learn about Jesus in a way that deeply impacts and changes their lives. At Hills, we are centered on Jesus, and hold to the truths of the Bible passionately. Our vision is to be a church that makes disciples and plants many more healthy local churches in university cities all over the West Coast and beyond.

So Why Are We Called Hills?

A few of our leaders visited Pullman prior to planting the church. The incredible topography of the Palouse and its natural beauty stood out to them. They also heard God speaking to them from the first verses of Psalm 121.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."
